The Innocent Man by John Grisham
The Innocent Man is a non-fiction novel written by John Grisham. It describes the trial and tribulations of Ron Williamson, a young man wrongly convicted of a murder in the small town of Ada, Oklahoma.
Grisham uses a different type of writing style by switching the context between the many different characters and the time period, as the novels events take place throughout his lifetime from 1953 to 2004. This style of writing grabs a reader and because the plot keeps on changing you are constantly left wanting more.
The Innocent Man is a novel that will open your eyes into how you see the judicial system of our country. Throughout the novel the 'prime' suspects are manipulated by the law enforcement to lie and tell them what they wish to hear. Grisham points out that during the investigation the men put on trial, for the young girls' murder, were considered guilty before proven innocent, going against our governments historical laws.
