Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam
Rocket Boys is a great book about a young teenager trying to juggle school, girls, friends, family struggles, and following his dreams. Homer Hickam is a fourteen-year-old boy living in a small town in West Virginia called Coalwood. Once the space race starts, he starts dreaming. Dreaming of going into space himself. He forms a rocket club along with his friends. They build rockets and fail many times, but earn a few memorable successes. A true story, it is heartfelt and also very inspiring for teens. Rocket Boys is an inspiring and true story about Homer Hickam’s determination toward his dreams all the while trying to be a normal teenager.
