Columbine
“Dave Cullen the author of Columbine has written for New York Times, Times of London, Washington Post, Slate, Salon, Guardian, Daily Beast, etc.” Dave Cullen wrote the book to let people know exactly what happens when bullying occurs and to let people know about the two boys that did the massacre. Like the author says “To understand this tragedy the key is letting go of our concept of the killers.” In the book it also talks about the families of Eric and Dylan and what they went through. “Spend a few chapters with Eric and Dylan, and you’ll discover two starkly different boys.”
The book Columbine an interesting book of two senior boys that did a terrible thing to their school. This book doesn’t just talk about what happened to the school but it also talks about the families, survivors, and very important details of Eric and Dylan. The families of the boys actually never wanted to have interviews. The book gives good details of the shooting and how things worked out. This surprised people they never thought that they would do that Eric and Dylan were smart students.
This books theme is showing what bullying can do to people. Dylan and Eric would get bullied by the popular people at school. People that get bullied go through a lot like trying to commit suicide or go through depression. Eric and Dylan went through a lot that they decide to do a massacre to their own school because they got bullied. Nobody should go through bullying, they should get help before it’s too late to do something to help them.
I would recommend this book to older people because it gives a lot of details that young viewers might not understand or view as too graphic, and if they want to learn exactly what happened in the school Columbine. This book gives great details and tells you exactly what happened; it explains why they did this horrible massacre.
