Sitting on the gross abandoned street,
The little puppy howls and weeps for something to eat.
New to the world and so innocent—
It does not deserve a life like this

Cars drive by and people pass,
Ignoring the little puppy.
Pleading for affection, it gets none.
Stuck in the cold and windy weather,
The little puppy still didn’t have a home

Sitting there like a leaf in winter;
Will it ever be loved?
Will it ever find a home?
Will it ever be happy?

Getting excited when someone walks by,
But repeatedly gets the same treatment;
Ignored and shunned.
Thinking that it will one day find somebody to love;
The little puppy thought wrong.
