To the marching band
You became my friends, colleagues, and family.
You kept me going and held me up when I collapsed
Side by side we won championships together,
we created music and formed a show.
But it has been much more than that
with you I have formed bonds which I shall never forget.
And as life goes on I vow to live by the standards which you gave me.
To stand straight and tall
and never fall
hold my head up
never give up
and don't be afraid to cry.
Go for the golden cup
play with meaning
or your notes will be deceiving.
And now with each step, breath, heartbeat, heartbreak, each tear, each day, each note I play I know
I am a champiano and no matter where I go, who I face or what I challenge I will reign victoriously, because I am not
that person, that player, not that member of the marching band, but I am that guy and that's who I am.
It has been an honor playing with you.
For a year and a half I was in Boiling Springs Highschool marching band. While I am no longer apart of it I still choose to live by a lot of the morals they taught me which is why I dedicate this peice to the Boiling Springs Highschool Marching Band.
