Even if it happened a long time ago,
And they don’t seem like that kind of person,
Like, at all,
It really throws you for a loop
When you find out you lover’s
Deep dark secret.
The initial shock keeps you silent,
(Luckily, so you don’t say anything rash)
But then when it finally sinks in,
You don’t know what to think
Or even say.
It seems impossible for
The love of your life
To be capable of such a thing,
But maybe you’ve misjudged
Everything you thought you knew.
