I could write poetry forever
but then, would you recognize me?
I could lament over the horrors of space between us
and scar page after page with my passionate vernacular.
or I could simply shut up and fall asleep in your arms.

There’s a path in front of me,
and I know where to walk.
But the words have abandoned me,
or I just feel like my dreams are too sweet to become real.

I’m so scared, so truly, completely scared,
and I don’t know if I can hurt all of these people
so very deeply.
I debate, and try to figure out how to play my cards
smoothly and subtly,
and still allow everyone to win.
