For Emma
You are always so strong
You stand with your hands on your hips
Never letting on
But I know sometimes that your faith dips
Today I saw the real you
Your tears they flowed on my shoulder
He called your boo
And you'll love him forever
A person who you lose
Never really leaves
Their soul entirely
But their breath the last we see
I know that it is hard
And I pray for you constantly
My words falling out of my mouth
And my head bowed south
Don't forget him
Because that is the worst
Revel in the time that you had
When he was big and held your small hand
You said
Grandpa can't I be like you
He said
Dear be your own self
You loved him, you you do
Don't ever forget him
Feel his soul as it wraps around
The space that he left
Don't be scared, we're here for you
Don't be sad, he's happy too
Don't be mad, God wants him
Don't cry, it don't fix it.
Life shall go on
A puzzle of tears, food and times
A mess of endings and starts
But the one closest to you
Feels like the world
is gone
