The Absence of Adrenaline

I didn’t know it was so obvious
They read my face like
The perspicuous words in a book
They asked, interrogated
But I didn’t have an answer
An answer that would suit them
I know the repetition
Is to blame for my hypnotic demeanor
Anticipating a spontaneous moment
To break the spell
Hopefully an adequate dose of adrenaline
Will do the trick
