Hold On

July 15, 2008

I can't imagine
What you've gone thru
But I do

Know that sometimes
We got to understand
The bad land

Of pain and heartbreak
To find the real friend
A God send

There's nothing to fear
The Darkness is gone
So hold on

Before it's too late
Quick take my hand
I'm your band

To the sweet/sour world
Right out that door
You're much more

Than this low-life
Down-trod and beat
At your feet

There's nothing to fear
The Darkness is gone
So hold on

Right now you're young
The world has depth
Take big steps

To start your journey
With people you've met
Don't forget

That your broken heart
Can still survive
Come alive

There's nothing to fear
The Darkness is gone
So hold on

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem for my BESTEST BEST FRIEND EVER. She'd been going through some really hard times before I came along in her life, and she was thinking really heavily about suicide. I thank GOD that He put me in her life to keep her alive-she is a beautiful, smart, and funny girl. Even if she doesn't see herself that way, I do and shame on those who can't appreciate her for who she is. Thanks for taking the time to read it.
