Ross and Rachel get Married…AGAIN

PLOT SYNOPSIS

The season finale of Friends ends with all the characters leaving their keys on the table in the apartment. They all go their separate ways to begin a new life in the suburbs of New York. To no surprise, Ross and Rachel get back together. Their long on again and off again relationship will finally be made permanent as they begin planning a destination wedding. Ross and Rachel happily tell their friends the news of the wedding and to no surprise, Monica takes over and Chandler starts cracking jokes. Meanwhile Phoebe is confused and Joey is daydreaming about his next conquest.

The friends travel by plane to Secrets Resort in Punta Cana, Mexico. As you can imagine one disaster after another happens prior to Ross and Rachel emotionally sharing their vows with one another. The friends’ flight was delayed, their rooms were double booked, and their baggage is now in france. The friends pull together so Ross and Rachel can get married. In the end, the wedding wasn’t about the destination, it was how the friends pulled together for Ross and Rachel.  

CHARACTERS

Monica Geller - Monica is very energetic, compulsive, and an insanely organized clean freak. She loves to clean and do everything how she thinks it is supposed to be. She is the sister to Ross Geller and is married to Chandler Bing. She is a chef so she loves to cook but all the food she makes tends to lead to jokes about how she used to be fat.   

Rachel Green - Rachel green is an original spoiled brat now living on her own with the help of her friends. She is funny and spirited but very self involved. She is the girl who knows clothes and hair and falls in love hard. She has an on and off romance with Ross Geller as well as a daughter with him named Emma. She was a waitress for a long time but is now working in fashion.  

Phoebe Buffay - Phoebe is the weird one; she is quirky and eccentric. She doesn't feel the pressure to do anything for anyone else; she is completely herself. Despite having experienced some traumas in her life, she is cheerful, generous, and free-spirited. Her job is a massage therapist, but she always wanted to be a musician. 

Chandler Bing - Chandler is known to be the funny and sarcastic guy but is a bit insecure about himself. Chandler tends to have a lot of female characteristics about himself. He constantly jokes around and pokes fun at his friends. He is married to Monica Geller. No one knows what his job really is. 

Joey Tribbiani - Joey is promiscuous and dimwitted but has a good heart. He is loyal, caring, and protective of his friends. He loves food and women and it would be hard for him to pick between the two. He is known to be a "ladies man,” as well as having a strong childish side. He also is an actor.   

Ross Geller - Ross is considered to be the most intelligent member of the group.  He is also a hot-head who is dramatic. Ross is known to be a paleontologist who gets married a lot. He is the brother to Monica Geller and has an on and off relationship With Rachel Green. Ross also has a daughter with Rachel named Emma, and a son named Ben with his ex lesbian wife

SCENES  

ACT 1-

SCENE 1: AIRPORT BAGGAGE CLAIM IN PUNTA CANA MEXICO AT 5:00 PM ON FRIDAY. The friends arrive in Mexico to find that their luggage is lost. 

SCENE 2: HOTEL LOBBY AND SUITE AT 10:00 PM ON FRIDAY. After finding that their luggage is lost, the friends finally arrive at the hotel to find out that all of their rooms besides Joey’s room are double booked. 

SCENE 3: ON THE BEACH SATURDAY MORNING AT 9:30 AM. After a rough night's sleep, the disheveled friends (excluding Ross and Rachel) meet at the beach in a touristy gift shop to find a way to get their clothing back.  

SCENE 4: A VARIETY OF LOCATIONS AT THE HOTEL 10:30 AM. Rachel is in tears and Ross tries to comfort her. They are wondering if they should even get married. While Ross is comforting Rachel, Joey, Phoebe, Monica and Chandler are busy doing what Rachel and Ross believe is impossible. 

Act 2-

ACT ONE

INT. AIRPORT BAGGAGE CLAIM IN PUNTA CANA MEXICO AT 5:00 PM

Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Monica are the last ones at a baggage claim pacing the floor bickering with one another. An airline representative explains to the group that their baggage is on another plane heading to France. Ross and Rachel think their wedding is doomed. Chandler and Monica meanwhile try to lighten the mood while Joey is hitting on a flight attendant and Phoebe is singing to herself. 

JOEY

(in his Joey voice to an attractive blond flight attendant )

How youuuuu doin?

MONICA

(completely neurotic)

Where is the manager? I need the manager!

PHOEBE

(singing her best to the tune of smelly cat)

Luggage …ohhhhh luggage… where even are youuuu?

ROSS

(yelling and whining at everyone)

OMG!!! It’s Rachel and my wedding. What are we going to do!? This can’t be happening. 

RACHEL

(calmly says)

Everything is going to be okay. We are just going to have to go buy all new clothes tomorrow!OMG! My makeup! I don’t have my makeup! Shoes…My Jimmy Choo’s are on their way to France! Rosssssss this is all your fault. You wanted a destination wedding and now look!

CHANDLER

(comedically makes a joke)

Jimmy aaahhhchooooo ohhhhmyyyy gawd! My allergies!!

(Everyone stops everything they are doing and stares at Rachel as she begins hyperventilating crying)

MONICA

(Concerning tone says)

Rachel, everything is going to be ok. We will figure out what to do. We are not gonna let this ruin anything. 

CHANDLER

(Sarcastic replies with)

Yeah Rach what Mon said, but we all know the only thing that's gonna ruin this wedding is Monica's hair.

MONICA

(Annoyed says)

Chandlerrrrr! Rachel don't listen to him, lets all get in the cabs and get to the hotel where we can figure everything out there.   

CUT TO: 

INT. HOTEL LOBBY AND SUITE AT 10:00 PM

The friends finally arrive at the hotel to find out that all of their rooms besides Joey’s room are double booked. The friends begin to panic, yet again. Meanwhile, Joey flirts with the red head working the hotel counter. Rachel begins to cry again. All of the friends go up to the room unaware Joey got a suite upgrade. Everyone walks in surprised. They are all worn out, glad they have a place to sleep and go to bed.  

RED HEAD
(Unbothered explains)

Soooo… all of your rooms have been double booked and the other guests have already been checked in? There is one room still available for a Joey Tribbiani.

JOEY
(In his Joey voice to the red head)

That's me! How youuu doinnn?

(as Joey continues to talk to the redhead working the desk everyone else tries to find a solution.)

MONICA
(Overwhelmed and worried)
Let's just all calm down. JOEY!! Now is not the time! Nobody but you has a room. You're so caught up flirting that you are clueless as to what reality is right now! Ross and Rachel MUST get married! We need to get into a solution. 

RACHEL

(nervously says)

OMG we don’t have our rooms! Ross! Us getting married is just not meant to be! I just can’t!

MONICA

(in her demanding voice) 

Joey we have to ALL stay in your room until they can find out what happened to our rooms! Chandler, you are going to call all the guests to make sure they have all their rooms?

Ross, you are going to make your beautiful wife happy by calming her down. 

Phoebe you are… where is Phoebe? 

CHANDLER

(In a supportive tone)

Yes! Yes! Let’s all listen to Monica. She knows what she's talking about.

PHOEBE

(enters the hotel Lobby with bags and bags    and bags of clothing). 

Everyone!! LOOOOOK! I found clothes. I couldn’t find the gift shop… SHHHHHH don’t tell anyone but I had a lot of luck at the lost and found.

RACHEL

(Grossed out says)

The lost and found that's what I am going to wear! What about my wedding dress, my one-of-a-kind wedding dress? 

PHOEBE

(a little scared replies while pulling out a white hat)

Well… the dress is gone for now but you can wear this one of a kind hat!

JOEY

(Announces)

I Got the key, let's go up to the palace! 

(all of the friends get on the elevator and the door shuts. Everyone can feel the tension)

          JOEY

(Proudly speaks). 

I want everyone to know I solved our room problem and got us a slight upgrade.

ROSS

(ignoring Joey says)

Joey stop talking. Right when we get to the room I will call another hotel to find a place for us to stay.  

(the elevator door opens up to the penthouse suite. Everyone is amazed by the room upgrade but more by how Joey accomplished it.)

RACHEL

(Amazed mouth open)

Joey you got all of this from “how you doing” that girl… you are like a wizard. 

ROSS

(Shocked suggest)

I suggest we all get some sleep. It has been a long day and we will take on tomorrow full force. Alright team!

(as ross turn around he sees everyone has gone to a room or couch to sleep) 

CUT TO:

EXT.ON THE BEACH SATURDAY MORNING AT 9:30 AM 

After a rough night's sleep, the disheveled friends wake up and take on the next day. Everyone decides to put on what was in the bag of clothes and get in the sun and go to the beach(excluding Ross and Rachel). The friends meet at the beach to find a way to get their bags back. AS the friends enter the beach path Joey is wearing cut off jean shorts, a womens flower shirt that is too small, black socks and sandals. Chandler is wearing a womens sundress that is too small with a sun hat that flops over his face. Monica is wearing men's boxer briefs with a wife beater and a baseball hat. While Phoebe looks as normal as ever wearing a long flowy dress with a sun visor.    

CHANDLER
(in his quirky pitchy voice)
Well good morning fellow friends!I can’t help but admire all of your bold fashion choices this morning!

MONICA
(serious and wide eyed and barking orders in her militant way)

We have got to turn this miserable destination vacation into a beautiful wedding for Ross and Rachel. We have got to work together so Ross and Rachel have the best wedding ever. 

JOEY

(Relaxed and not fully awake)

Monica I think you need to take a deep breath and think of the good we have… for example the sick room I scored for us.

PHOEBE

(Totally serious)

Or all of the cool clothes I found from people who are probably dead now.

Monica

(remorseful says)

You know what you guys are right. Sorry! Joey, you solved the room situation even though none of us believed you could. And Phoebe you did find us clothes for right now and today… but we have nothing for the rehearsal dinner or the wedding. And I know how much Rachel loved her dress. I think I have an idea. 

CHANDLER

(sarcastically replies with)

As long as your idea is better than your hair right now I think we will be fine.

MONICA

(Ticked of but ready to go says)

I will get my hair fixed before the reception. Right now though I need to call Rachel's mother.

JOEY

(flirty says)

Tell her I can’t wait to see her.

PHOEBE

(filled with a thought says)

Rachel’s moms flight doesn't leave until later tonight and Rachel always loved her mothers wedding dress. Why don't you ask her to bring it? 

MONICA

(Thrilled by the idea adds)

I will make my mom go by Ross and Rachel's apartment to grab more clothes and her other makeup as well.

Chandler

(excitingly says)

I will go out and buy her a new pair of jimmy choooooooos… excuse me I had to sneeze again. That can be our wedding gift to Monica.

   JOEY

(Concerned and confused says)

Bless you chandler you should really take some allergy medicine. Monica, make sure you ask your mom how she doinnnnn. 

(The four of the friends finally came to a conclusion on how to save the wedding and their plan is now all taking place.)

CUT TO:

INT. FRIENDS PENTHOUSE SUITE SATURDAY MORNING AT 10:30 AM 

Rachel is in tears and Ross tries to comfort her. They are wondering if they should even get married while bickering back and forth. It doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be for them after all the disasters. Joey then barges in the penthouse with coupons he scored from a bartender to the spa and explains to them everything is taken care of without giving away what they have in store for them.  

RACHEL
(speaking in a sad voice while wiping away tears)

Ross, why do I feel like we never  get things to work in our favor. It always seems like our relationship is doomed whenever we want to be together. 

ROSS
(wiping Rachel's tears away as gently hugs her)
Rachel, relationships aren’t about the final destination, rather it's how we handle the speed bumps to get there. We always come out the other end more in love than we were before the trip began! And we have been on many trips and rides to get us to where we are today. I love you Rachel and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. 

RACHEL
(smiling softly grabbing Ross’ hands)
You're right Ross. Every speed bump that we have made it over has only made me love you that much more. Ben and Emily are everything to me. Your friendship and love is priceless. We have the best friends in the world even though they are all very unique in their own way. We have so much to be grateful for.  

Joey

(Barges in excitedly)

GUYS! GUYS! GUYS! Get off your lazy sad asses, and go enjoy your vacation of love.  

RACHEL

(anxious says)

Joey, as much as I would love to go to the spa or on the beach I have to find a dress and clothes for every other day as well. 

ROSS

(Replies agreeingly)

Yes Joey we would love to go have fun but we need to sort out our luggage problem.

JOEY

(annoyed replies)

I can’t tell you what we did but it's all handled you will have a dress and shoes and a tux. Now go have fun. Here's 2 spa coupons for a full treatment. 

RACHEL

(Curiously asks)

How did you get those coupons? Those are not cheap!

JOEY

(Flirtatiously replies)

The same way I got this room. Except there was a Hot brunette at the pool bar.

(Joey shoves rachel and Ross out the door forcing them to enjoy their time)

JOEY

(whispers under his breath)

And they all think I'm the dumb one.

CUT TO:

Act Two

It’s the next morning and while the friends are eating breakfast, a group of hotel personnel approaches the table bearing gifts. Each hotel employee is carrying dresses, tuxedos and flowers. A musical quartet begins performing “You are So Beautiful To Me,” and they approach the table as well. As the music slowly fades, Ross gets down on one knee and sings to Rachel the song. After singing a verse, Rachel is crying and the music stops. Ross proposes to Rachel again and she says yes!! All of the friends, the hotel personnel, the quartet and the customers in the restaurant stand up and begin applauding.The scene cuts to a ballroom where everyone is gatherer to witness Rachel and Ross getting married.Chandler walks Rachel down the aisle to Ross and Joey while Monica is busy fixing Rachel’s train on her dress. Phoebe is playing the guitar while the quartet sings. A traditional exchange of vows occurs. The scene cuts to the wedding reception where everyone is dancing and having a good time. Joey meanwhile is casing the room looking for someone to dance with. His eyes lock with the redhead that upgraded his room. He walks over to her and says, “How youuuuu doin? And Act Two ends.
