Character Conflict
It was a breezy fall day, and Sally and Dylan had plans to eat lunch together. As soon as 4th period ended, Sally headed to the lunch room to save a spot for them. As she waited for Dylan to arrive, she decided to unpack her lunch and start eating; Even if she finished early, it would give them more time to talk.
10 minutes pass by and Sally gets worried. She decides to walk around the school in search of Dylan. She checked all the first-floor bathrooms, the library, and the gym. She finally decided to check the outside lunch area, and lo and behold, Dylan sat, laughing and eating with her other friends.
Sally marched right up to Dylan. ¨Where have you been, Dyl?¨ Sally demanded. ¨I could ask you the same thing,¨ Dylan began, ¨ I´ve been waiting for you to meet me out here. We had lunch plans!¨
Sally was furious. How could Dylan blame her? Dylan knows Sally hates the cold, so why would they eat lunch outside? And at least Sally had the decency to look for her, Dylan had completely ditched her! Sally gave Dylan and her friends a hard glare and promptly stormed off to the indoor lunch room.
Sally had finally reached her seat when she realized Dylan was chasing after her. ¨Hey! I´m sorry, okay? It was just a misunderstanding. Don´t be so sensitive.¨ Sally whipped her head around as fast as lightning. She was speechless. She felt so angry and sad and had so many words to say, yet nothing would come out. She took a deep breath and turned away.
¨Seriously? You´re going to ignore me now? Whatever.¨ Dylan walked off, back outside, back to her friends.
As Sally sat, eating lunch alone, she wondered if Dylan even understood why she was mad.
