Skyrim on PC
Skyrim is a great game. Skyrim is an open world fantasy RPG. It is approximately 4 years old and still extremely popular. Skyrim has won many awards. All these factors make Skyrim a great game.
I’ll start by talking about what Skyrim is. Skyrim is a medieval era game set in the fantasy world of Nirn, on the continent of Tamriel, in the country, Skyrim. The game features all the things you would expect from a fantasy game, magic, elves, trolls and dragons, but also breaks a couple molds by not making the game revolve around your class. You want to be a mage? Go for it, want to be sneaky and use giant two handed sword in addition to magic? Go for it. Skyrim doesn’t for you into any class roles, you have access to all the features of the game no matter what race you choose. The main questline can be done in a speed run of 1 hour but if you want to complete Skyrim 100% then it’ll take you somewhere around 200hours because of all the caves and dungeons and castle ruins, side quests and quest lines that are all interesting.
Skyrim has a whole list of awards, such as VGX award for best RPG, VGX award for studio of the year, satellite award for best outstanding RPG, Kerrang! award for best video game and many more. Bethesda, the makers of Skyrim have a history of making great RPG’s with big names such as, Oblivion (Skyrim’s predecessor and 4th in the series), Fallout 3 and New Vegas and dishonored. Bethesda is going to make another big splash with fallout 4 which is just over the horizon.
Skyrim’s age seems to have no effect on its popularity, if anything it’s at its most popular. Skyrim’s online modding community is as lively as ever with several mods coming out every week. There are many online communities and YouTube channels dedicated to teaching you the lore of Skyrim, or to creating spoofs of Skyrim. There is one series that has multiple seasons, called Skyrim cops. Skyrim’s community is alive and well, and we all look forward to the next installment in the elder scrolls series (elder scrolls online doesn’t count).
Skyrim isn’t perfect, there are loads of bugs in the game, but even with its imperfections, some of which are pretty funny, it’s still a great game, well deserving of all its awards.
