Far Cry 3
“Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?” said by none other than the Island lord himself, Vaas. Far Cry 3 has to be the most do whatever you want game. Whether its killing tigers or blowing up sharks with your rpg, and even use the jumpsuit to skydive. Theres so much to do its overwhelming, but I’m going to look over the parts that matter, Survival, That eerie feeling of being alone on a drug lord controlled Island, and all the most important characters.



“Jason, If you have any hopes of surviving, you must hunt to stay alive.” Said by your first Island buddie, Dennis. Hunting Is a key factor for your characters survival, killing animals and getting animal skins. This is needed to make extra ammo pouches, because speaking from experience It sucks to run out of ammo in a firefight. Its also need to hunt and sell those skins for money for supplements for wounds, guns and ammo if needed. The only bad thing about the hunting is that it gets so repetitive and so boring once its done so much and its not fun anymore. Go to the hunting area, find the animal, kill the animal, skin the animal, repeat. But for some this may be their favorite part.



This game like no other makes you more scared of animals than you are the people, Lets say the character is stalking a man, but what he doesn't know is that a tiger is stalking him, waiting for that moment when he isn't ready and pounces him, A tiger First Person mauling? Thats way more scary that a dude shooting his gun. In its own way the gamer feels helpless when they’re all alone, being chased by 20+ pirates with intents to put kill, and not only that they have terrorific animals chasing them, also with the intent of killing. If this games doesn’t bring that out I don’t know which game does. Its atmosphere is so different and so extraordinary that it just keeps me playing, knowing the fact that I could get mauled at any second.


Dennis, Sam, and your friends who had been captured on the island are your only friends, The only hope of humanity left for you on the island. Dennis, basically the mayor of the first small town you end up in. Hes your first “friend” and helps you find your captive friends. Sam Is just one hell of a crazy guy, a bloodthirsty mercenary wanted to kill but hindered at the fact that hes only one guy, and one guy can’t take out a pirate army. But theres some characters that help you in a way, but I wouldn't call them friends. Citra and Dr. Earnhardt are people who help you, but never are so honest to tell you the truth Of what actually goes on. Then theres Vaas and Hoit, your worst nightmares. These two have a bounty on your head, Literally, there Is a bounty for you head! These high life crime lords are the biggest in the southern sea, and are not about to let some 21 year old man take them down, so they thought.


So the survival, the eerie feeling and, the characters make this the most fun adventure game out there. Although this game has repetitive gameplay, the excellent storytelling and wordplay render that repetitiveness obsolete. One thing's for sure, all the other games competing in this genre are a far cry away.
