If you thought the commercial for “Maze Runner” was convincing, think again. The movie was absolutely fantastic, and even better than how the commercial portrayed the movie (though that HAD to be difficult). Dozens of things make Maze Runner a five and a half star movie. That’s how great it was.

  One thing that added to the movie’s greatness: Extreme attention to detail. The Maze Runner’s graphics? Exceptional. Like the Maze. The Maze looked as realistic as the special effects guys could make it. There was also a helicopter ride at the end. That was as real as it gets (without being real). The background also never looks like a green-screen throughout any of the movie. I think that’s the most difficult thing to do in any movie. There are also these slug-like creatures in the Maze called Grievers; the Grievers graphics were simply stunning. Beautiful, I may add. I would feel terribly for anybody who saw the movie in 3-D.

          Speaking of the Grievers, they had some of the most beautiful graphics I have ever seen in a movie. The only graphics I can think of that is just as good as the Grievers is the Avengers movie, which was released in 2012. Anyway, when the Grievers are alive, all your adrenaline just dissipates from you. There are multiple points where the main character encounters a Griever, but I won’t reveal it if you haven’t seen it. Those are great parts. The Griever’s stinger is also one of the things that pops up a lot during the movie. The graphics for the stinger stands out over the whole Griever, without taking any attention away from the entire Griever. If there is a statue of a Griever that is even half as cool as the Grievers in the movie, nightmares forever.

  The storyline of the Maze Runner is the best I’ve seen in my life, though I’m only 13 (I watch a lot of movies at home though). Anyway, the “Maze” itself is a huge story. At one point in the movie, one of the Runner’s explains the fact that all of the Maze has been discovered. The Runners figured that that maze was divided into sections, specifically 8, and the fact that a different section opens each day. One of the characters explains that there is a theory that, beyond the walls, there is a way out, though only a small handful of people are allowed to enter the Maze. The exit in the Maze, which comes in later in the movie, is also very cool. There is this digital pad, sort of… well, it’s difficult to explain.

The characters were great, though most of the actors are little heard of or it’s their debut. All of them did fantastic, though. The actors did so great, I really don’t want them to win an Oscar and then end up doing a car commercial. There were plenty of great actors, and I should really stop saying that so much. Anyway, the cast starred Dylan O’Brian. Ever heard of him? Neither have I. O’Brian played the main character, Thomas. Some guy played Alby, who was the leader of the Glade. Then someone named Blake Cooper played Chuck, who befriends Thomas early in the movie.

Finally, the is a huge amount of suspense which is way over the limit of suspense for any movie. But it was AWESOME. I can’t stress it enough. Like things about the Maze. ANYTHING that had to do with the Maze was suspenseful. The Grievers is one of those things. The fact that the walls to the Maze open and close is another. Theres also a point in the movie where Thomas and Minho (I referred to him as the ‘Asian guy’ earlier) believe they’ve found an exit, but Gally believes it is likely a Griever nest. So, that gets you thinking… Who is right? Thomas? Gally? Both… neither?

There are also a handful of suspenseful lines. One of many: “Noone has ever survived a night in the Maze”. That is later followed up by “Nice job… You just killed yourself”. Another line? Ok, here’s the situation the first girl ever is sent up to the Glade. She is carrying a note that says: “She’s the last one. Ever.” Yet another line that leaves you hanging is at the end of the movie, and a lady says that the survivors are now entering phase two. This is very good news for us, because that means; SEQUEL! ‘Maze Runner: Scorch Trials’ should come into theaters somewhere around September 18th, 2015.

There are many great things to say about Maze Runner. There is all the suspense you can get. The attention to detail is fantastic. And the Maze Runner has a GREAT storyline.
