The Giver by Lois Lowery
The Giver
By: Lois Lowery
This book is amazing and recommended to anyone who is interested in a light read with lots of depth.
This book is about a boy named Jonas who lives in a futuristic society. In this society citizens are assigned a job, spouse and children. At the age of 12 kids are assigned a job determined by their strengths. Jonas is selected for a special job and has to face the biggest decision of his life: run away from his family and friends to save a child, or face the cruel, harsh society he lives in.
Personally I loved this book. Each page was more exciting than the last. This amazing book has so much depth to it and after reading it I thought long and hard about my own life and how it would be if my freedom of choice was taken away. I thought this book had a rather disappointing ending but gives the reader lots of creative ideas for anything such as: Book endings, topics, titles, and much more.
