little women by lousia may alcott
The novel Little Women written Louisa May Alcott is about four sisters and their loving mother, the March girls growing up around the time of the American Civil War. There is Margaret “Meg”, the oldest of the four and known for her beauty. Then there is Josephine “Jo” known for being a strong and willful young woman. Lastly Elizabeth “Beth”, the shy and Amy the proper.
When the book the begins the girl are all sad because there father is gone at war. They were once a rich family long ago. But because of an unknown reason they are now like everyone, needing to be careful on how they spend their money. All the while have to worry about how they are presented in their society and what futures they want for themselves.
Through the books you get to see love, laughter and the struggles of growing up in a high society and how the girls handle it.
I really enjoyed this book because you got to see the girls grow while you read. The way the author chose her words were brilliant. She really made you feel the happiness, and sorrow the girls felt. To anyone that like heartwarming, coming to age books I recommend this for you.
