The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
The Red Pyramid, by Rick Riordan, is another one of my favorite books. If you like mythology, then it is a perfect book for you. Unlike the Percy Jackson books, where it was all about Greek, this is all about Egyptian mythology. The evil god Set is building his pyramid so he can take over the world after being defeated by his brother the first time in history. Sadie and Carter Kane have recently discovered that they are from a long line of Egyptian magicians after their dad has been kidnapped. It is up to them to save the world. They are accompanied by the cat goddess, Bast who once took the form of Sadie's cat. As the story progresses, they have to overcome many difficult situations, not knowing what comes next. This story is a mystery and that is what I like most about it.
