Nothing But the Truth by AVI
Philip Malloy is a fast-running and joke-playing boy. Philip gets stuck with the teacher that he absolutely despises, so he pulls a prank and everything doesn't turn out like it was supposed to; in fact, what he did gained national attention and no one was listening to both sides of the story. He got suspended from school and his parents think it was stupid for suspending him. He is supposed to run track this year, but will they let him run? More importantly, will he come back to school?
In Nothing But The Truth by Avi, you learn how far too far is when doing something that you didn't even think was bad. When I picked up this book I could not put it down. The plot of this book is amazing, and I felt like I was right there in the book. This book is written with roles, so the pages are short and you never lose track of what you are reading. I strongly recommend this book to eighth and ninth grade students.
