Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
“You’re not dead, but you’re not alive. You’re a wintergirl…” may be confusing at first, but once you read this book you’ll understand! In Wintergirls the main character is Lia. She is an 18 yr. old anorexic girl. Her mother Dr. Marrigan, and Lia do not get along at all. She lives with her dad, stepmom Jennifer, and half-sister Emma.
Lia goes through a lot of stuff in this book. The hospital, nut house, deaths, and horrible thoughts!
In my opinion it was a wonderful book! Lia, is a likeable person but her thoughts and actions aren’t the best.
In the end she realizes that her actions really hurt people, but does she change her ways? Read it to find out!
I would definitely recommend this to people who are anorexic, who make themselves puke, or think they’re fat. I also recommend it to people who like surprising or creepyish stories.
