Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
Have you ever thought books are boring, and they have cardboard characters? Well not this book! In the book Where the Red Fern Grows the characters are good and bad.
This book is about a kid named Billy and he lives in the Ozark Mountains. He has always wanted not one but two raccoon (coon) hunting dogs. Each one was fifty dollars. After a while both dogs went on sale for twenty-five dollars. Billy saves up his money for three years. The dogs were in the mail area across the Ozark Mountains. Will Billy go across the Ozark Mountains alone or wait a couple of weeks for his Grandpa to make the trip. In this amazing book it will show you love and sadness. You will be reading from sunrise to sunset. I recommend this book because I read it fourteen times and every time it got better. I rate it five out of five.
