*Hush by Jacqueline Woodson
Your friends, your family, the place you were born and raised and now you're forced to move away form it all.
The emotional story of Toswiah Green's life, Hush, is a book like no other. She was forced into a life she never wanted, new friends, a new home, and a new identity. Moving by way of the Witness Protection Program(WPP), her family was left in ruins. But despite it all Toswiah pulls through.
Jacqueline Woodson's writing is brilliant and unique. Her words do not create feeling, they are feeling. Reading the book is as if you're reading about your own life from long ago. I love how it gets hard to tell if you're Toswiah or just another person reading a novel.
I only advise certain people to read this book, though. Ms. Woodson ends the book, in my opinion, horribly. The ending ruins the feeling of the story.
