Black Hole by Charles Burns review
Black Hole is a graphic novel, that takes place in the mid 19’s, where teenagers are becoming monsters through STD’s ( sexual transmited diseases) But the story doesn’t focus on that, it focuses on highschool teens being alienated or isolated.
Black Hole is about two main characters, one of them is a girl and the other is a boy.
But they have a different story or a different perspective if you may. What i mean is that they appear in separate situations. For Example the girl is walking somewhere with her boyfriend meanwhile the dude is smoking weed.
Black Hole has drugs, murder, sex and ect. So this book is obviously not for children. And like i said before this is a graphic novel so people that like to read comics or manga there is an option if you want to read something somewhat differ from usually what you read.
What i like about the book is the artstyle of the book it looks realistic well compared to my drawings, and also the drawing look sorta dark and somewhat edgy and i think the did that on purpose of course because the story is pretty dark . but whatever people like.
You know that most books have a theme or moral or something, but i think that some books were made for the hell of it. But just to get a theme into this i would say the theme would be that life may be scary and you might be alone at the moment but don’t give up and keep going.
My personal reaction to this book was great because i like graphic novels, another reason that i like this is because it’s new to me because it has that weird and dark vibe for me. But i don’t know how others would react so go read the book and enjoy
