To My Other Half
I wonder how we got into this mess
I don’t know how we even became friends
But something that I know I must confess
I’ll stay with you, I swear, to bitter end
Your red uniform and your sparkling smile
Our laughter always makes the others glare
Though I know that we work in different styles
If you left me my life would be so bare
Behind the smile hides a past quite dark
A side I know you’ll never let them see
But somehow you have never lost that spark
The spark that flickers, drawing you to me
So long as both of us can still draw breath
We’re friends forevermore, up till our deaths

Everyone has that special friend, the one that understands them on the deepest level, the one they would die for in a heartbeat. This poem is for that friend, my sister in all but blood. Never forget how blessed you are for friends like this.
