Winter's Promise
I wait until the day breaks and dawn shows,
To make my dash across the winding field,
To see big clouds and the soft new snow.
As it grew into the sky it revealed,
Secrets of the icy powder below.
Seeing acorns and little brown noses,
Surprisingly warm inside their burrows,
Nestled up deep between the roses.
As I watched the animals sleep,
The wind grew colder and blew all around.
Causing the animals to fall asleep.
And more snowflakes to fall from the sky town.
This was the first of many winter days,
With cold, majestic and fluffy snow ways.
