Sometimes there is no darker place than our thoughts, the moonless midnight of the mind.<br /> -Dean Koontz

I Want Be Remembered
I want to be remembered as a girl who never shied away from speaking the truth
As the girl who cared and always showed proof
I want to be remembered as a girl who never kept quiet in the face of injustice
A girl who didn't lose her cool and wasn't combustive
I want to be remembered as a girl who did her part for her generation
I want to be known as the girl who could move a nation
I want to be remembered, for good
Not for where my brothers stand, the hood
I want to be remembered as a girl who didn’t follow public opinion, but had her own mind
A girl who appreciated, and saw everything a find
I want to be remembered for all the love I gave

I want to be remembered for all the friendships made
I want to be remembered for the caring and compassion shown towards others
The girl who treated everyone like a sister or a brother
I want to be remembered for the faith and hope that never died inside
I want to be remembered for the look of pride
I want to be remembered as the girl who cared
I want to be remembered as a girl with all she had she shared
I want to be a woman, who is true to her word,
Through all and everything, done, seen, and heard
The woman who never said never,
and the woman who always believed in forever
I want to be remembered as a woman who rose and lifted others along with her

The woman who you could trust and confer

I want to be remembered as a woman who never walked in anyone’s path without blueprints, but cleared her own one,
Walked there and left footprints.
I want to be remembered as happy and free but most of all I want to be remembered,

Remembered as Me
