If You Blink
Let’s pretend to watch
a meteor shower on midsummer’s eve
just to remind you
to remember to breathe
and that it's okay to believe
when you’re here with me
When you listen close to the tolling of the bells
you’ll hear
it tells a lonely story
If one day --
tomorrow, let’s say
-- you wake drowning in supposedlys
and blink this world away
And the colours here --
one day they disappear
because the colours there
bloom from the sky’s wind-up toy tears
I’ll meet you on the other side
Let’s run to a place
where firedust keeps earth and sky apart
just so we can see
that we’ve made it this far
close our eyes and open our hearts
as we catch falling stars
When you listen close to the sound of the rain
you’ll hear
it sings of who we are
And we'll still have moonlight rooftops
Even if we lose faith in our lives
And maybe we'll get lost in just-maybes
But they’re tomorrows in disguise
If one day --
tomorrow, let’s say
-- you wake drowning in supposedlys
and blink this world away
I’ll be waiting
on the other side

All the world's a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.
