Mended
It’s been three years
Since I last held your hand
I still shed tears
And wish I could feel that warmth again
Don’t want to accept that it’s real
Scared of the pain I’d find
Let the loss remain surreal
Push the memories back; push them out of my mind
But I could never forget having to leave you behind
And I'm learning that the only way to heal
Is to stand up to what’s real
And look fear in the eye
I’m learning to let them see me cry
There’s no shame in being candid
Cause every time I let somebody hold me
A piece of my heart is mended
It’s been this way from the beginning
Had to no words to say what I was feeling
Still feel the emotions I felt when I said goodbye
My chest aches, but the words get trapped inside
(Chorus)
Ooh (4x)
