I walk out the door, not expecting to meet

the cold winds blowing all through the streets

I run back inside to grab my sweater

as I say a silent goodbye to the warm, humid weather

Trust me, ocean sand , you will be missed

but I’ve been waiting all summer long for a feeling like this

waiting to watch the leaves fall from the trees

no other season has days as beautiful as these

so sit and listen to the autumn song

because trust me, darling, this doesn’t last very long

I walk by your house and breathe in the cool air

saddened, because I know you’re no longer there

but as I look around, the smile returns to my face

remembering all the memories of us together in this place

Trust me, summer sun, you truly will be missed

but I’ve been waiting for months for a feeling just like this

waiting to watch the leaves turn to orange from green

no other season has days as lovely as this scene

so sit and listen to the autumn song

because trust me, honey, this doesn’t stay very long

I sit down on the steps

hoping you’ll return soon

from the say we first met

I knew I would never forget about you

Trust me, it’s you, who I will always miss

you’re the reason I’ve always felt like this

I’ll sit here, forever, until you come back to me

knowing that once you return you’ll never leave

and we’ll sit together, listening to the autumn song

because what we’ve found is a love that can’t go wrong
