Scars
Nothing you do
Can change the past
Nothing you say
Can take away the heartache and pain
Time has left its mark on me,
And nothing can erase it
You and I can try as hard as we want
But its like a permanent tattoo
I’ll never be the same again,
I’ve lost my innocence forever
Time cannot reverse the past
And I must look to the future
But I am scarred forever
Marked as one that has been hurt
I am marked forever
Scarred as one that has been hurt
I’ve felt the pain and the stabs in the back
Ive experienced loss and sadness
Ive learnt to hold my head up high
Though words fire like bullets
I’ve tried to cover up the scars,
But in my mind I know they’re there
I can try to my hearts content
But nothing will erase them
I’ll never be the same again,
I’ve lost my innocence forever
Time cannot reverse the past
And I must look to the future
But I am scarred forever
Marked as one that has been hurt
I am marked forever
Scarred as one that has been hurt
Sometimes I wonder if the struggle is worth it
If each day is really a gift
To end my pain would be a blessing
But the scars I would leave on others
Would be too deep
I’ll never be the same again,
I’ve lost my innocence forever
Time cannot reverse the past
And I must look to the future
But I am scarred forever
Marked as one that has been hurt
I am marked forever
Scarred as one that has been hurt
