"Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Have they not been made such a fool in their squalor?

For they desired a sign and sought for the wise

When the precursor of life was right in front of their eyes" - Wolves at the Gate

A girl trapped in this broken world
Trying to fit into someone else’s mold
And when the weight of defeat finally takes its toll
I hope that onto me you will hold

When you feel that you have lost your way
And you can’t bear to see another day
When you’re all alone with nothing to say
Just dry your eyes and look my way

Cause I’ve been waiting here all along
Even though the days go on and on
I see through your pain and through your hurt
When they tear you down and treat you like dirt

They try to fix you when nothing is wrong
They try to mend you but only cause harm
Can’t you see? I’ve been here all along
Run to me and I’ll hold you in my arms

When nothing is left
There’s everything to gain
Run to me
And let go of the pain

This world won’t save you
And neither will they
So dry your eyes and look my way
Cause I see a girl that needs saved

Dry your eyes, girl; look my way
Hold me tight; don’t run away

Dry your tears from your face
Never forget my love; my embrace

Oh, look my way

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I do like to rhyme..a LOT. And yes I have found that I do rhyme too much, but it's a style that I like for some reason. This song in particular was written in just a few minutes, and I didn't put as much work into it as I could have.

Nevertheless, I am happy with it. =)

I sense a sincere message, but the work seems help back by the forceful rhyme scheme rather than propelled by it. In the future try making rhymes more subtle, or perhaps try rhyming less often.
