Love Song from the Open Sea
The summer nears
as we think together
of what’s to come, and what’s to see,
and as we think, you say to me;
“as you breech the waves, don’t feel apart, I’m always there for thee.”
And as the day, it start declinin’
as we know, we have to go
and i reply, in a faithful tone,
“don’t cry today we have the way”
though this we all but know.
As I depart,
a faithful soldier,
of the future that I know I cannot view,
and as I, leave in the sunrise,
I think a thought of what will come and I sing this song to you:
I’ll tell you of my voyage,
and my adventure,
all across, the ocean blue
and how my heart, it longs to see you
as I take to the open sea my heart it longs for you.
I hit the choppy waters
and top the waves
though my troubles, they are not through
and as the land, it meets my eyes,
words of a letter in my heart are already sent to you.
I’ll tell you of my voyage,
and my adventure
all across, the ocean blue
and how my heart, it longs to see you
as I take to the open sea my heart it longs for you.
And as my trip is ended,
I kiss the sands
for on this land, you do reside,
and as I rise, my heart it races,
for you’re not far and I know you are, a veteran to the tide.
I’ll tell you of my voyage,
and my adventure,
all across, the ocean blue,
and how my heart, it longs to see you,
as I take to the open sea my heart it longs for you.
And as we meet,
I do embrace you,
and know that you feel the the same as me
as we say, all together,
“We have survived, we have arrived”, come on now sing with me
I’ll tell you of my voyage,
and my adventure,
all across, the ocean blue
and how my heart, it longs to see you,
as I take to the open sea, my heart it longs for you.
