Cinderella
You’re so Unlike Cinderella,
You ain’t ever had a fairy god-mother,
You’ve never found prince charming,
You say life’s never been fairy tale,
How cold is your heart?
How empty is your mind?
Why is that when I hold you,
Your heart beats slower then mine
You’re so unlike sleeping beauty,
Though you surround yourself with thorns,
You say you’ll never wake up,
(This nightmare’s all you’ve ever known)
You’re so unlike snow white,
You don’t believe in wishing wells,
Though I see you as pale and perfect,
You say you’ll never be “the fairest of them all”
How cold is your heart?
How empty is your mind?
Why is that when I hold you,
Your heart beats slower then mine
How can I be prince charming?
When you’re unlike any princess I’ve ever known,
How can I be the knight in armor,
When you don’t want to be rescued?
You’re so Unlike Cinderella,
You ain’t ever had a fairy god-mother,
You’ve never found prince charming,
You say life’s never been fairy tale.
