Question of Life
Tell me the point of this life,
'cause with every breath I take,
I fall farther away.....
Everywhere I turn,
Cold eyes stare back at me,
Hostility 'round every corner,
Trouble waitin' for me.
Call me a sinner,
Well, maybe I'm a saint,
Tell me it's wrong,
Hey, maybe it's right.
I try so hard to figure out,
The answers to every question,
But they burn up in the fire,
Consuming me,
Drowning out my sorrows,
As the truth slips away,
Promises lost and broken,
Won't anything ever stay?
Call me a sinner,
Well, maybe I'm a saint,
Tell me it's wrong,
Hey, maybe it's right.
'Bow down and pray',
You tell me,
Well, I say,
Stand and shout.
Shout to the world,
The words burning through your veins,
Shout, let your voice be heard,
Let it ring through the city streets,
And echo throughout time.
Call me weak,
And I will be strong,
Tell me what's right,
And I can show you the wrong.
Truth is something we create,
Defining differences,
With no definition.
We're just mere mortals,
In a broken little world,
So who are we to say,
What only time will unfold?
If we're all sinners,
where are the saints?
If everything is wrong,
will this world ever be right?
