God's Ink
i'm afraid to fall in love,
scars from my past still prominent and true;
but i'm willing to fall in love,
only if i'm falling in with you.
be my shield, be my protector,
even if you're 500 miles away.
be my forgiveness, be my acceptor,
and i will love you every day.
i'm too scared to get attached to you.
because the baggage that i hold with me,
is heavy and i'll burden you,
with all my pain and my insanity.
but the slightest thought of your absence,
has become the source of my tears.
and i hope when separate we still balance,
over the course of those two years.
i can't promise that i'll wait for you,
i can't promise that i'll stay,
but i can promise that i love you
for forever and a day.
i love you like i have no other choice,
like it's written in God's ink, and it's sounded in God's voice.
like we're made for each other, like we'll muffle all the noise.
like my head will be more clear if i pick you out of all boys.
