Memories Never Over
Too many memories swirling around my head
Memories of the moments that never will be over
I keep trying to live in the moment
Instead, I am reliving the memories
The ones that will never be over
Thoughts whirling around my head
Creating a fog to hide my pain
I forget to cry I no longer know how too
Life’s not easy nor a mystery.
Who am I to say who I am?
everyone has someone they need me to be
my life is fine, it's me who’s not.
Where in a perfect life can my mind become so broken
It’s a perfect world, but my soul’s destroyed.
I feel so alone in a room full of people
The people caused these moments
did they know?
I can’t let no one in But in they get in and never stay
they leave me broken at their feet and walk away.
now back to the beginning once more
Once again they are memories.
memories that can be forgotten

I wrote this during the height of covid after I had lost a friend. It is the first time I wrote a song-style piece. Everything else was just short poems or quotes.
