Down The Rabbit Hole
Falling deep into the hole of memories
I remember things about me
The bicycle I never did ride
Because I never had the will to try
The pictures of people I wanted to be
Because I wanted to be on the TV
The drawings I made when I was a kid
Because they’re the ones I wish I never did
The teddy bear I used to hold when I’d sleep
Because it had too many secrets to keep
The first tooth that had fallen out
Because the tooth fairy was just a doubt
The baby blanket my mother had to knit
Because I wish that it would always fit
The the pair of glasses I had to wear
Because I vowed I never wear them anywhere
The first cast I had to get
Because within a day, I had gotten it wet
The first friend I made at school
Because then I thought she was cool
The time when I rode that ride at the fair
Because the wind had messed up my perfect hair
The first boy I ever laid eyes on
Because the next day he was gone
The time when I believed he was the one
Because he gave me everything when I had none
The day when I stopped walking on air
Because he said that he did not care
The first kiss I had with a boy
Because I found out I was nothing but a toy
The time when I had lots of friends
Because I had no one in the end
The day when they walked away
Because if I wanted to fit in, I had to pay
The way I felt when I saw him smile
Because it made my day worthwhile
The favorite shirt I wore at night
Because I felt like everything would turn out alright
The first car that I ever got to drive
Because it made my sense of danger thrive
The time when I broke down and cried
Because nothing worked despite how hard I tried
The song that really got to me
Because it was on my favorite CD
The time when there was no star in the sky
Because I had lived a lie
The night when I just laid in bed
Because I had too many dreams in my head
And above all the rest, the lesson that I learned over the years
Because life is something you should not fear
