This is Winter to me
Peeking outside out of the frost covered window,
I see the white wonder whirling down and attaching to the frozen ground.
It doesn’t show signs of stopping, while each snowflake is dropping.
I see the children play, like elves in Santa's sleigh.
The fireplace burns bright, providing all the light.
The tree as tall as the Empire State building,
and the smell of sweet pine needles.
I see the presents underneath the cozy Christmas tree,
and the aroma of the cookies a kid could inhale.
I’m hanging stockings by the Christmas tree,
and waiting for Santa to come fill them for me.
I listen for the foot of reindeer tapping on the roof,
as I fall asleep to sugar plums, the morning is coming soon.
The only gift I’ll ever need is a loving family—this is winter to me.
