Heart of Atlas
The eternal flame of my
punishment could never illuminate
the darkness of the burden I will forever
loathe to carry. The crushing pain of a dark and
stormy sky is but a pinprick in comparison to haunting
cries of Gaia and the plume of smoke signaling humanity's
infinite holocaust. These shoulders have burned for eons.
Nothing compares to the strain my heart feels in the midst
of Chaos. Eros—born out of Chaos—rooted in love.
The day will come when Love needs no Chaos, the day
my burden will no longer be a burden, the day when
the Sun rises in the West and sets in the East.
A small rush of relief, gravity lessens,
And for a single instant, Love
carries the weight
of the world.
