Death
Death
To mourn someone
So bright
Black
Black
And more
Black
We wore
Something so dark
Remains of Flowers nestled
In the pits of our footprints
From the previous hour
The Granite maze rows ran for
What seemed like
Miles my eyes could perceive
No matter
The pain
The dirt
Was still dry

Reflection: My inspiration for this poem was the recent passing of my friends mom who was like a mother to me. I tried to emphasize her bright personality but our clothes hadn't resembled that. The granite maze symbolizes the cemetery. I said the dirt was so dry because the amount of people she knew who will attend the funeral , the tears couldn't even soak it enough.
