Death is Life
Death to the artist,
Death to the author,
Death to your neighbor,
Death to your daughter.
Not a physical death,
Not a lack of movement,
Not absence of breath,
Not a embodiment.
Except in one's soul,
Except in one’s mind,
Except in you as a whole,
Except in real life.
Hiding from real life,
Hiding from each other,
Hiding from the knife,
Hiding from true colors.
Dying as who we are,
Dying as we’ll always be,
Dying as an unseen star,
Dying as slow we plead.
Death to everyone alive,
Not a death for existing,
Except in those who strive,
Hiding from those missing,
Dying inside, no one knowing.

I feel like we constantly kill pieces of ourselves in order to grow.
