I sit with my feet up on the dashboard,
music bursting from the speakers in rhythmic little puffs,
windows rolled down just enough so I can dangle my left hand over the edge.

I can faintly hear the wind pecking at the cracks on the door,
sending the puddles of water on the ground into frantic ripples
and propelling crackled autumn leaves onto my car windshield.

I close my eyes and listen to the storm battering around me,
enjoying the balmy sensation of the car vents breathing hot air,
warming my skin despite the bitter cold outside.

For once I have nowhere to be, no deadlines to meet, no class to rush to,
and so I stay here just a little while longer while the world races on around me.

I loved it, personally. The title fit the poem and I felt it in my soul, if that doesn't sound too corny.

I absolutely love the title of this poem, and the way to describe the title without even mentioning the title in the poem at all.

well obviously you dont get the true beauty of this poem nor the point of poetry it is self expresion so are you trying to say this person is expressing them selves poorly if so i dont think you should be able to even witness beauty like this if you cant see the true beauty pluse didnt you go to kindergarden if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all

wow guys you all need to lay off on the negative!!! poetry is expressing yourself and your feelings, not focusing on pleasing a bunch of critics like yourselves! i love this peice i don't see why the rest of you don't.

It would be a miracle if I actually read a poem that was good. Why are yall lying to these "writers" (cough). If someone one of you were good you wouldn't have to beg people to read your work. please read some Mya Angelo, Ee Cumming,Hemminway. God knows you need to.
