to disappear
It’s the distrust that spills from her fingertips
Slippery fingers sliding through the cracks
Of the walls surrounding her, bringing her closer
The air warming, she suffocates on her resentment.
Her smile is a mystery, vanishing like the wind
A beautiful world before chaos descends
She sighs and memories float from between her lips
They escape her.
Bleeding fills her with emptiness and a sense
That believing never gave her
Slowly, she closes the curtain, on a play, and
A lifetime.
The show must go on.
