when i saw you hold him
i felt my heart break in two
when i saw his reaction
i knew he loved you.
when i saw you smile
my heart leaped with glee
when he smiled back
my mind whirled with what would be.
when i saw him mess up your hair
i could not help but remember your shampoo
when he walked by
i knew he could smell it, too.
when i saw you look at him
i knew you saw the sparkle in his eyes
when he looked back
i knew you loved him, too.
when you saw me
i turned away, this could not be...
