Monsters
I wait, and wait, all through the night.
Until it’s well past midnight.
The phone it never rang
The call it never came.
I hide under blankets from the dark
that swallows me whole like some kind of shark.
I close my eyes and hold my breath
ironically hiding from something worse than death.
I try to hide from what I dread
The monsters in my closets and under my bed.
Because they don’t stay where they are supposed to
They walk around and close to you
and when your fear boils over the pot
they attack you in your weak spot
They make sure you can’t scream
the monsters under my bed are mean.

This poem is about how scared I am of the dark actually. I've always hated the dark and when I wake up in the middle of the night it scares me. So I hide under covers or keep really still just in case. It's a little pathetic for a highschooler but it's me, and it's whatever. lol.
