Coffee Mugs and Blankies
I used to have
A baby pink blankie
Carried it with me everywhere,
Religiously.
Over the years
This has morphed into a coffee mug.
The Blankie,
Faded balloons etched into its fabric.
Seems only fitting
That I had sketched a few
(balloons)
Onto this mug in sharpie.
That blanket
Was where I found all comfort.
"Daddy" was never comfort,
neither was "Mommy".
Now,
Likewise,
The coffee mug is that comfort.
Coffee mugs and blankies
All that will ever be of importance to me.
