They say that hope breeds eternal misery.
Darling, I suppose I should have listened
but the sounds of your laughter and the way that smiles tugged on your lips
had me feeling that this could last,
that it wouldn't leave,
you were so close that I thought you were here to stay,
and really you were miles away.
