I don’t understand…
      Why girls are mean
      Why there are bad people in the world
      Why humans are destroying our only home
      How people can be dyeing of starvation and obesity

But what is most confusing is…
      Why there are guns and wars
      Why cancer exists
      Why there are drugs and alcohol
      What makes siblings and family fight

But I do understand….
      Why people need second chances
      Why the sun shines
      Why the universe is forgiving
      That there are good people in the world
 

And I know
      Why we give complements
      Why teachers keep teaching
      Why there is laughter
      How to make someone smile
