Alone With My Thoughts
Oh Darling,
I’m petrified.
The air has escaped my frail lungs.
It happens often,
Daily as you know.
Especially in big crowds.
You used to hold me
And keep away the
Deadly,
Mind-throbbing,
Chill-inducing,
Fear-devouring
Thoughts.
But now I’m alone.
Alone with rough, frigid sheets
And the memory of you.
The day you walked out
and it came back in.
