The Truth About Time
Nothing to keep
and everything to have;
the ones you come back to
walk away in the end.
You have everything you want,
and nothing you need.
You have everything you need,
and nothing you want.
You lose only what matters,
you take nothing you need;
you give everything you can’t
and get everything unseen.
Remember all you can go back to;
regret everything you did;
when you should have been noticing
the things remained unsaid.
Dwell on artificial dilemmas,
but trust me, find while you can,
a place where you don’t look backwards,
but straight ahead instead.
The best things, you’ll know after,
are short, and bittersweet;
though life’s a long road,
I hope yours is complete.
